Site Activities Week of July 16, 2018

Update for Week of July 16, 2018:

Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH) treatment system operating measures as of July 13, 2018:

  • Average subsurface temperature has risen to 73º C versus a target temperature of 87º C.
  • The ERH system has applied 2,851,500 kWh of the estimated 8,255,000 kWh to complete treatment. This represents 35% of the estimated total energy necessary to complete remediation.
  • The perimeter air monitoring system has shown no TCE emissions at the perimeter of the site. The air monitoring results are available on EPA’s website at https://cumulis.epa.gov/supercpad/cursites/csitinfo.cfm?id=0402598.
  • The estimated TCE removal to-date is 106 pounds.

Please note that you may see occasional steam from the thermal treatment unit during system operation.  This is normal water condensation caused by weather conditions, and not a release of TCE vapor.
